Spring in your step

There's nothing like an afternoon of pampering to make you feel new again (and all tingly-soft and glowing)... A few days ago we jumped into the car and took the 90 minute drive North-West of Melbourne to Daylesford, in the heart of mineral springs country. It was a grey and blustery day - perfect for some warming up in a mineral bath. As I left the house, I couldn't resist a photo of the beautiful autumn treetops around the neighbourhood:

The trip through the autumn countryside was misty and gorgeous. Huge gums flashed past as we wove in and out of the forest, past paddocks and over bridges. I have such a romanticism about the country with its painted homesteads, gorgeous gardens and fresh air that brings the pink to your cheeks. Here's a 20-second snapshot of the trip:

After a hearty lunch at the Daylesford Farmer's Arms pub, we headed  down the road to the Hepburn Bathouse and Spa for our mineral treat. The Bathouse is a gorgeous wooden and glass building set unobtrusively amongst the trees, with a central atrium for relaxing after your treatments.

Public bathing is offered, however I opted for a luxurious private bath with an Eminence Pear and Green Apple Sugar Scrub, followed by a delicious Apricot Whip Moisturiser. I emerged soothed, softened, pink and very, very happy (and sleepy!)

I was particularly interested to check out the organic range of Eminence products, as I hadn't heard of them before. They offer a full complement of botanically-themed facial and body products, which the website states are all handmade in Budapest. Very special (however for the retail price, you'd expect them to be). I'm not a huge fan of fruity-sweet products, but I did take a **shine** to the particularly gorgeous Blueberry Shimmer Body Lotion. Yummy yum yum!!
