To do: work-out, old-school style

It's been a beautiful weekend and Monday has kicked in hard. However, this Saturday, we discovered something to brighten the otherwise dreary weekday fitness regime. It's the Princes Park training gym.

For a 'Championship' effort, Princes Park recommends that you wear 3-stripe pants and a 70s tee.

Four fitness stations are dotted around the park's jogging track, providing comprehensive instructions and equipment for strength work. And they are effective. A day after my stint on the abs station, I'm still sore when I laugh (or sit, stand, walk or move). And unlike the gym, we were in the fresh air, with nary another sweaty person in sight (with the exception of the topless old man with his portable radio, who added some whimsy to the operation)...But the best bit? Enjoying a beer in the sunshine after all that outdoor activity. ...Aaaaaah!!

  1. I love this! Aberfeldie park also has outdoor gym equipment dotted around the park. Such a good idea!
